Girl, Unraveled
Do you see the girl
unravel before you?
Do you see her
unraveling?
She reveals.
She'll tease.
Do you see?
I could have died
right there.
I wanted to melt.
My soul wilting,
my mouth a rare flower.
I am a dying breed.Then
the taking of a shawl.
This black thing you hold deep.
I hold it, too.
My torch.
A search light.
I can see, too.
We are mannequins
solid to the core.
What we hold dear
doesn't matter anymore.
If you let it go-
I'm afraid
it won't return.With girl unraveling,
go ahead
unfurl a shawl.
The unfurling of a soul,
of a mind
right before you.
Did you notice?All around,
the trees open up
their leaves for me.
Their little horrors
are buds,
budding inside me.
This is spring.
This is
what once was.
Do you see?I've brought you the girl- revealed.
I've brought you coffee and coffee
and maybe one day
tea.
All that fluff is yours.What
will you bring?
